What is Depression?
Depression is a mood disorder that causes severe symptoms that affect how you feel, think, and handle daily activities.
Signs and symptoms:
- Persistent sad or “empty” mood
- Feelings of hopelessness
- Irritability
- Feelings of guilt, worthlessness or helplessness
- Lost of interest or pleasure in activities or hobbies
- Fatigue and decrease in energy
- Moving or talking more slowly
- Feeling restless or having trouble sitting still
- Difficulty concentrating, remembering, or making decisions
- Difficulty sleeping or oversleeping
- Appetite and/or weight changes
- Thoughts of death or suicide
- Physical symptoms such as chronic headaches, stomachaches, etc.
